Security & privacy

Clarity should come
with clear boundaries.

Security is part of the deployment plan: who can view, what gets recorded, where it lives and how access is reviewed.

Authenticated access

The pilot separates the branded app login from the recorder login. Video and recording endpoints require an authenticated session.

Outbound connectivity

Remote viewing uses a tunnel initiated from the site. The design avoids publicly forwarding inbound recorder ports.

Local processing

Detection and recording run on-site. Authorized remote viewing transmits requested video; it is not the same as offsite backup.

Before a healthcare rollout

Validate the controls—not just the camera angle.

Access & audit

Require approved access roles and audit-logged footage. Validate both in the deployment before use; an authenticated pilot alone does not satisfy this requirement.

Purpose & retention

Limit recording to approved common areas, document the purpose, define retention and establish evidence-preservation procedures.

Review & agreements

Assess whether footage could contain protected health information. Confirm applicable agreements and safeguards with privacy, security and legal reviewers.

No blanket compliance promise.

4cecam does not claim HIPAA certification or guarantee that a deployment is compliant. We do not claim a completed third-party security certification. Production and healthcare deployment require review of the actual configuration, policies and agreements.
